Vinnies used as dumping ground again

Bags have piled up outside Vinnies over the last few weeks
14th Jan 2025

Vinnies volunteers in Guyra are facing an extra clean up due a large volume of items which have been dumped at the centre over the last couple of weeks.
Despite signage requesting to only place items in the charity bins, an overflow of items has been left out in the elements and will most likely have to be dumped.
The cost to dump the unwanted items will have to be an extra expense for the organisation and reduces the funds available for their charity works.
While Vinnies always welcomes good quality donations they are urging people not to use them as a spot to get rid of poor quality items.
If you have items to donate it is best to call in when the shop is open. If you can’t make it during their opening hours and find that the bins are full, it is best to take them home and call back to avoid your donations being rendered unusable.
Vinnies Guyra will reopen next Wednesday January 22nd. They are open Tuesday and Thursday from 10am to 2pm and Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 4pm. They are always on the lookout for more volunteers and if you are interested call into the shop during opening hours.
