New dining option for Guyra

06th Aug 2024

A long awaited desire will
become reality for Jess Summerhayes this Friday when she opens the door to the Why Not Diner at 108 Bradley Street. Her earliest memories revolve around food, helping her grandmother prepare meals for the family and her first job was working in a little café in Dorrigo where she says she just loved preparing food and interacting with the customers.
Jess has been in and out of the hospitality industry ever since and most recently has built up a following for her mobile catering business which services functions such as weddings, parties, and events. She has also opened her food van from home on a semi regular basis and often had customer lining up down the street to taste her delights.
Jess said she is more than a little bit excited to take the next step which is a shopfront where she can service her customers on a regular basis. Identifying that night time options in town were limited, she will initially open evenings Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm to 8pm, closing later on Friday and Saturday nights.
Her menu will feature food made entirely on the premises using fresh and local ingredients where possible. Among the options will be pizzas made from scratch, burgers with handmade patties and the tasty Mexican menu that her existing customers love.
The opening of the diner is an extension of her business and she will continue to operate her mobile catering with the help of her loyal staff and will look to add extra employees to service both businesses. She will also continue to cater at the saleyards in Armidale and Guyra
Jess said she is looking forward to seeing her customers on a more regular basis and the feedback so far has been extremely encouraging. She will open the doors for the first time on this Friday August 9th.
