UNE Voyager Discovery visited Bald Blair Public School on Wednesday 2nd April.
Voyager Discovery is a science outreach and engagement program, delivering interactive curriculum-aligned activities in science, technology, engineering, arts and maths.
Students wore lab coats and safety goggles to explore creative chemistry. They made bubbling concoctions and played with colour-changing creations to investigate the ins and outs of different chemical reactions.
Students also had the opportunity learn about different techniques that detectives and forensic scientists use, including matching fingerprints and blood typing.
Students had to work in teams to solve a series of puzzles to eventually “escape” from the scenario, in this case escaping from the museum!
To finish the day, the groups came back together for Rocking Through Time – an interactive play that involves the students exploring the geological aftermath of volcanoes, ice ages, climate change and more.
It was a fantastic day filled with creative learning experiences.
