2024 - Guyra’s second warmest year on record

2024 was Australia’s second warmest year on record, and it was also Guyra’s second warmest on record.
Looking at 86 complete years of data collected since 1911, the mean temperature for the year exceeded the long term average by 1.26C.
Temperatures were above average in all months except July. The warmest year on record was the drought year of 2019 with the mean temperature exceeding the long term average by 1.50C.
Rainfall for 2024 was 51mm lower than average with a total of 826.6 mm at the official weather station located at the Guyra MPS. Much of the shortfall came at the end of the year with December rainfall 45mm below average.
