It was another successful year at the Guyra Show shearing, with a total of 50 shearers in attendance and a total of 454 sheep shorn. The shearer’s came from as far north as Tara in Queensland and as far south as Bigga down near Cowra and many from our local area.
I’d like to thank the many shearer’s and draggers who helped out prior to show day to shear 406 Dorset rams to raise the prize money on Show day. Thanks to our little committee who put in a lot of time to organise and run this great demonstration of shearing. Thank you to the people who helped on the day with judging, time keeping, scoring, roustabouts, penning up the sheep and to Jock Mallise for commentating for the day.
Many thanks to Wayne and Lorraine Jenkyn for providing the sheep, to Trevor and Deirdre Tarrant for the transport of the sheep and to Phil Saunders for driving the truck.
There were a huge amount of sponsors, too many to name, but your support is greatly appreciated. To all the graziers who supplied the rams to shear so that we could put up some great prize money, a big thank you.
Lastly, a big thank you to the wonderful crowd who had the stands full all day long. It was amazing to see so many spectators enjoying the shearing.
