Tiny Church will be all aglow this Christmas

Black Mountain Church
26th Nov 2024

The Baptist Church at Black Mountain will come alive this Christmas thanks to the generosity of local resident, Railene Turner. The Church will be professionally lit for Christmas by Mr & Mrs Hill Lighting, from Glen Innes.
Over the last several years Geoff and Cassandra Hill have travelled all over NSW to install lighting for weddings and special events. They will use their expertise to create a magical Christmas event by illuminating the tiny Church at Black Mountain for the first time.
Railene said she was motivated to do something to spread the joy of the season to the residents of Black Mountain and also to remind people of the Reason for the Season. She approached the Armidale District Baptist Church (ADBC) asking for permission to proceed with the lighting.
Not only did she get approval for the lighting, her request also served as a catalyst for the first service to be held at the Church since before the Covid-19 pandemic.
To mark the event a free BBQ will be held on Saturday December 7th starting at 6pm, followed by the Carols Service at 7.30pm.
At the conclusion of the service, when the skies darken, the lights on the historic Church will be revealed.
The lights will remain switched on for the rest of the month, so if you miss the unveiling, you can still take a trip to see what should be a great spectacle.
