Schools march with pride on Anzac Day

Black Mountain School participating in the march
07th May 2024

Welcome back to another busy and exciting term. I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing holiday.
It was an honour to participate in the Anzac March last week. Congratulations to Tyleek Jerrard our Year 6 Leader for delivering the Prayer of Remembrance and Mikyla Patterson for laying the wreath for Black Mountain Public School. Thank you to the students and parents who were able to commemorate this important event with the community.
For Australians, Anzac Day is a time for solemn reflection, to express gratitude to the people who have served, and continue to serve our nation, in war, conflict and peacekeeping operations.
Our new transition student Jamiek Patterson had a great start to learning last week with transition leader Mrs Sapphire Roller. Last week, students enjoyed making rainbow colours with rollers and shapes and also made sun catchers with the big, beautiful autumn leaves that are now falling.
At Black Mountain Public School, transition students learn through creative play and hands on learning activities, following the Early Years Learning Framework, to prepare them for Kindergarten, the following year.
Each Friday transition students participate in activities with our K-2 Echidna’s class as well as other school activities such as assemblies and cultural events. The wellbeing and care of all our students is our highest priority. Ensuring a smooth transition to Kindergarten ensures a great start to school.
If you have a child who is four years of age or turning four and would like to know more about our transition program, please contact the school on 02 6775 0192 to speak to our experienced teaching team.
