Southern New England Landcare, in collaboration with the CWA Guyra Evening Branch, is excited to announce a special Rural Women’s Day Bubbles and Canapes event on October 12th in Guyra.
This event is dedicated to celebrating the contributions of women, not only in agriculture but also those who are the backbone of rural communities across Australia.
Local Landcare Coordinator from Southern New England Landcare Elizabeth Rosser said that Rural Women’s Day is an important occasion to recognize the invaluable contributions of women in our rural communities.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with the CWA Guyra Evening Branch to bring the community together for this inspiring evening and to hear from Annabelle, whose passion for storytelling shines a light on the resilience and strength of rural women,” said Elizabeth.
The evening will feature guest speaker Annabelle Brayley, a renowned storyteller and advocate for rural communities. Growing up on a farm in Queensland and with a rich background in nursing, Annabelle has been a powerful voice for women in agriculture.
Her work has been published in R. M. Williams’ OUTBACK Magazine and by Penguin Books Australia, showcasing the lives and stories of people in rural settings.
As the story co-ordinator for Girls Talking Ag (GTAg), Annabelle empowers women to share their own narratives and experiences.
Kate Matthews, President of the CWA Guyra Evening Branch said that community collaboration is essential for empowering rural women and fostering connections.
“The CWA is always looking for ways to support and advocate for women, families and the communities in which we live,” Kate said.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together, share stories, and celebrate our strengths and support our rural women.”
