2024 sees some exciting new categories for young artists in TroutFest’s Art Competition with a move into the digital scene.
Primary school children can try their hand at a short poem or the fish themed art section. A little twist on this is that poetry entries must be handwritten rather than computer generated.
It gives children lots of scope to be creative in their handwritten presentation. Entries close 4pm September 20th at the Guyra Library (last day of the school term).
High school students have two categories to enter with the first being Digital Photography. Students present their before and after version of a photo created on a camera or other device. The Digital Photography entry can be physical copy, an e-file or similar, of a photograph(s) altered or enhanced.
Entries will include both the original photograph and after files. TroutFest is making special arrangements to digitally display entries from students aged 14 to 18 years. Our judges will be Sarah and Steve from Light Catcher Images in Armidale. First and second prizes will be awarded.
The second category of Youth art has three age groups 11-12 years, 13-15 years and 16-18 years, allowing students to express themselves in any media with any theme. Again, there will be a first and second prize awarded in each category.
Entries close September 20th and can be submitted via email to guyratroutfest@gmail.com or to the Guyra library if you are submitting hardcopy.
Entry for all children and youth is free. Entry forms can be obtained through your school or GALA.
