Southern New England Landcare invites community members to Koala Konversations,  an inspiring Koala Conservation Speaker Night, to learn how they can help protect one of Australia’s most iconic species.
The evening, to be held on 20th March in Armidale,  features talks from leading experts in the field, offering insights into the challenges facing koalas, and the efforts underway locally, to secure their future.
Guest speakers include Carolyn Hogg, Professor of Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Sydney and Romane Cristescu, Senior Research Fellow in Conservation Ecology from Sunshine Coast University, as well as Local Ecologist John Lemon and National Parks and Wildlife Area Manager Mike Grieg, who will share the latest research, stories, and practical ways the community can get involved.
Hosted at The Welders Dog Brewery from 5 pm, the event will include free food and a special koala-themed beer, with proceeds from each ticket sale going directly to koala rescue and rehabilitation efforts.
The night promises to be both educational and inspiring, offering a chance to engage with experts while enjoying good food and drinks among friends – all in support of koala conservation.
