Successful hit out at Warwick Pentathrun for local family

The annual Warwick Pentathrun was held on the 25th and 26th of May. Consisting of five races over two days, made up of Saturday’s half marathon 21.1 kms, cross country 4.6 kms, road race 5 kms, Sunday’s mountain climb 10km and a street race of 1.5 kms.
Guyra runner Aidan Brown entered the cross country event on Saturday morning, which was held at the Morgan Park Horse Trials eventing course. Aidan came first in the under 15 years category with a time of 19 minutes and 30 seconds. Three hours later Aidan came 5th in the 5 km road race held at the Darling Downs Sandy Creek Hotel.
On Sunday morning Aidan was joined by younger brother Hamish Brown in the 1.5 km street race. Aidan finished 3rd with a time of 5 minutes 26 seconds in a very fast field. Hamish, competing in the under 12s section came 5th in a tight group with a time of 6 minutes 46 seconds.
They were joined by their father Simon Brown who competed in the five events over the weekend.
Simon completed all 42.2 kms in a combined time of 4 hours and 19 minutes.
