Ladies’ Golf

Last week the Ladies held a 2 Ball Ambrose Australia Day Bring a Friend Competition. The rain came in later in the day but did not dampen the spirits of some keen golfers who finished playing their rounds.
We had several new players which was encouraging to see. The Ladies winners were Karen Oehlers and Pip White. Ladies and Friends winners were Lisa Ellis and Emily Simson. Mixed winners were Jake Ellis and Claire Davidson. Men Winners were Mal Gaukroger and Bob Constance. Junior winners were Harry Purvis and Rave Brazier.
Nearest the Pin winners were Braith Kliendienst on the 7th hole, Sheree Clarke on the 9th hole, Joey Ryan on the 10th hole and Andrew Youman on the 18th hole. Longest drive winner was Tyson Burey.
This week the ladies are playing a Par Medal round. Next week is the First Round of the Ladies Championships along with 2nd Golf NSW Medal Round. Wendy George is the starter.
The Second Round of the Ladies Championships will be played on the Saturday 12th Feb.

Men’s Golf
Last Sunday an 18 hole stableford was played with Steven Sole emerging as the winner with 37 points, Richard Burey was runner up,
All three nearest to the pins went to Chris Newberry. This weekend will see the 1st and 2nd round of the club championships get under way sponsored by Guyra’s Country Fresh Bakery and the Fourways service centre.

Men’s Bowls
No matches were played last weekend. Games set down for this weekend are as follows: 
Saturday 5th February 1pm start in the final of the handicap singles Barry Campbell will play Dan Kennedy with Scott Campbell to mark 
In open singles John Jackson will play Anthony Bull with Wayne Reeves to mark, David Wilcox will play Ian Jacobs with Barry Pressnell to mark and Cameron Peardon will take on reigning champion John McIlwain with Robert Walls marking.

Midweek Golf
Back again with the midweek golf after what seems like a really big break. Highest individual score this week went to Debbie Burey and Taylor Brennan with 24 points, followed closely by Logan Beechey, Mal Gaukroger, Deb Heffernan and Jon Cumming with 21 points.
Best team score for the week went to Pitch Purrfects with 84 points and a close second was Bean Golfin on 83 points.
